Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible
Relay is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy request, write to support@relay.app.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, sign-in method, and the organisation or workspace you create.
- Chat and voice data: messages you send to Relay through Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Slack or the dashboard, including voice notes (transcribed) and files you upload.
- Calendar data: events and busy blocks from a calendar you connect, read only to find free time and avoid conflicts. If you enable write access, we create and move the study sessions you asked for.
- Planning data: tasks, sessions, time logs, goals, notes, habits and the schedules Relay generates for you.
- Usage data: which tools the agent called, token counts, errors and timings, used for limits, billing and debugging.
- Billing data: handled by Stripe. We receive a customer id, plan and subscription status — never your full card number.
3. Why we use it
- to run the service: answer you, build plans, schedule sessions, send reminders;
- to take payment and enforce plan limits and fair-use caps;
- to keep the service secure and debug failures;
- to meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your messages or files to train our own models.
4. Who processes it
We share data with service providers only as needed to run Relay, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- AI model providers (for example OpenRouter, Google, OpenAI, Groq and Cerebras) receive the prompt needed to answer a turn, which may include your message and relevant context such as task titles. Their handling is governed by their own API terms.
- Messaging platforms — Telegram, WhatsApp (via Twilio), Discord and Slack — carry messages between you and Relay.
- Infrastructure — our hosting provider (database and application servers), Redis for job queues, and object storage for uploaded files.
- Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional email, and a web-fetch service when the agent is asked to read a URL.
Some of these providers are outside your country. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
5. How long we keep it
Account, planning and chat data are kept while your account exists. Operational logs (tool calls, errors, token usage) are kept for up to 90 days. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. When you delete your account, the data described in section 6 is removed from the live system; copies in backups expire on the normal backup rotation.
6. Deleting your account
Go to Settings → Delete account and confirm. This immediately cancels your subscription, deletes your account, and removes your messages, files, tasks, plans, time logs and connected-channel links. If you share a workspace with other people, tasks and plans you authored are deleted too; the workspace itself stays with its remaining members, and ownership passes to the longest-standing remaining member.
You can also email support@relay.app to request access, correction, export or deletion. We answer within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect against request forgery. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS, provider credentials are encrypted at rest, and access to production data is limited to the operator. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
9. Children
Relay is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a material way we will tell you before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
